![]() Professionalism Quick TestFrom Jim Ball, December 12, 2006 November Report in the UK In November 2006, a new report in the UK reported, "successful improvement and modernization of public services is largely dependent on the professionalism adopted by public servants." "One thing is clear . . ." the report concluded, "it is time to reawaken the debate about what it means to be a professional." Quality of Service Is Tied to the Level of Professionalism We in our company reached the conclusion that the quality of service depends upon the professionalism of those providing it several years ago when we first published my book, Professionalism Is for Everyone. Through our keynotes, articles, seminars, and workshops we are doing our part in stimulating the debate and discussion about what it means to be a professional. I am pleased to report that several agencies in our government here in the US (as well as hundreds of other organizations) are doing their part by providing our books and seminars on professionalism to their associates. 30 Question Quick Test on Professionalism In an effort to stimulate the discussion and debate and motivate professionalism and professional behavior, we have produced a short self-analysis we call our Professionalism Quick Test. This consists of just 30 questions you can review and answer with either a Yes or a No in just a couple of minutes. Then you can score your answers to see your professionalism rating.
